The festival market has undergone a drastic change in the past years. Next to the musical direction multiple other factors such as sustainibility, atmosphere and the supporting program of festivals gain more and more meaning for the audience. This panel lays eyes on the festival landscape in Germany and on an international level, its development and argues why small Boutique festivals have sometimes better chances in the market than bigger ones.

    How Austria Innovates Music

Many people consider Austria to be the home of music. Think of Mozart, the "Sound of Music", Herbert von Karajan, the New Year's Concert and the Viennese Waltz. But time does not stand still. This panel explores how Austrian musicians, institutions and startups are trailblazing the future of (classical) music and are redefining the business of creativity.

  • 5:30 pm - 6:00 pm

What started on a piano a couple of years ago materialized in Vienna in 2016 as a multi-sensory performance where music, storytelling and immersive media came together. A_N_D’s creative team is now ready to take you along on this perennial journey from inspiration and spirituality to 3D audio. The presentation at SXSW will also function as a canvas for unexpected and creative co-operation.
